The IF & Power Distribution Unit also provides DC power up to eight indoor units using redundant AC to DC converter modules. Both the TX and RX distribution have separate gain control adjustments accessible at the front panel toggle switch. See datasheet below . The toggle switch at the nominal, center, position provides approximately unity gain from any input to output distribution path. There is also a +5dB setting and a –5dB setting on the front toggle switch increasing the signal output by 5dB (boost) or decreasing it by 5dB (back off). The TX and RX signal levels may be monitored on the front through the TX monitor and RX monitor BNC ports. The distribution of RF signals through the RXIFD and TXIFD boards have been designed for L-Band use, 950MHz ~ 1525MHz, thus the RF ports block DC and reject 10MHz. The IF & Power Distribution unit uses a redundant powering system with two 350-Watt power supplies operating at less than half their rated load (even when all eight indoor units are powered). In the event of a failure on one, the remaining power supply will undertake the load of powering the indoor units. A “Fault” LED visible on the front panel will indicate the failure. |
