Turbo NMS is a Network Monitoring System (NMS) solution for Turbo Connect modems operating on standalone mode without any other master Solante unit such as Voice/Online.
It provides a complete suite of monitoring, reporting and configuration tools all accessed by user-friendly graphical user interfaces(GUI). A complete network of Turbo Connect modems periodically (every 30 seconds) reports their status to Turbo NMS. These messages, also called Short Status Response (SSR) inform Turbo NMS about their accessibility and health state through a complete list of 32 different parameters. A communication attempt is triggered by Turbo NMS in the event it does not receive an SSR in more than 90 seconds. If the communication attempt is not succesful Turbo NMS graphically reports it accordingly and it can also send an email notification to an operator according to pre-established escalation rules. Besides the periodical SSR the Turbo Connect modems also report adhoc alarm events corresponding to the 32 different health parameters. These alarms are classified as either a "Warning" or "Critical" and again a graphical and email notification is immediately generated. The GUI interface of Turbo NMS allows multiple views of the status of all modems including table and different map forms. The modems can be grouped in different levels facilitating their monitoring by the operator. For configuring a particular modem a web browser is launched from Turbo NMS allowing the access to every configuration item available for the Turbo Connect modems. |
