SatLink-Maritime Comm.jpg

The SatLink 1910 Maritime VSAT provides the advanced capabilities required for marine operation, including global roaming with access to 10 different beams for continuous two-way satellite communications. Internet access, Voice over IP, GSM over IP, and video conferencing are common applications of its powerful broadband-at-sea features. See datasheet below .

The SatLink 1910 Maritime VSAT is a member of a family of SatLink products and systems from STM enabling scalable, high-availability DVB-RCS networks optimized for Internet Protocol (IP) communications, including: VSATs, turnkey hub and gateway systems, hub components, and value-added options for advanced data, voice and video networking via satellite. STM is the technology and market leader in DVB-RCS satellite networks delivering superior performance for telecom service providers, ISPs, governments and enterprises around the world. STM also offers Global Teleport Services, installation and integration services, plus total managed network services.

Features & Benefits :

Outstanding IP Performance

SatLink 1910 delivers 12 Mbps of IP throughput with advanced IP networking features.

Comprehensive IP Networking Features

SatLink delivers TCP and HTTP acceleration, VPN, NAT, and VLAN options, plus a built-in DHCP server and both unicast and multicast IP routing.

Advanced QoS for Data, Voice, Video

QoS Groups for bandwidth-on- demand enable delay sensitive traffic for interactive media concurrently with bulk data, without dedicating bandwidth per VSAT.

BUCs up to 5 Watts with Power Control

Internal power for BUCs up to 5 Watts; automatic power control from the hub simplifies installation and optimizes operation and bandwidth use.

Low-Power, 1U Rack-Mount Design

Its compact size with low power consumption makes the SatLink 1910 Marine VSAT especially effective for on-ship deployments.

Adapted to Maritime Environment

The SatLink 1910 Maritime VSAT can store parameters for up to 10 forward links, enabling it to move seam- lessly between beams. The software is specially adapted for the constant roll and pitch of the seas making it less susceptible to outages, and the unit is equipped with a GPS interface for fast, automatic log-on and synchronization. Optional transmit inhibit switch prevents inadvertent transmissions outside of authorized areas. Mesh networking option available for direct ship-to-ship communications.

Bandwidth Efficiency at Many Levels

Efficient, high-speed QPSK modulation, header com- pression, section packing and intelligent capacity request algorithms enable efficient high-bandwidth applications; consumes only 64 bps when idle, 0 bps in “auto-sleep” mode.

ACM & Rain Fade Mitigation

Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) on forward links and adaptive FEC and symbol rate on return links increase bandwidth efficiency and improves link margins to mitigate rain fades.
